Starrsville Plantation | Styled Photo Shoot

Several years ago, I got to be a part of a styled photo shoot at Starrsville Plantation in Covington, Ga. What a beautiful venue, gorgeous model and over all, a very fun day for us creatives.

With all that has been going on with Covid-19, many of my brides have had to reschedule or have canceled their weddings completely and gone a different route. Please don’t lose hope ladies! God is so good and He is doing good! According to His Word, He loves us and wants the best for us. He is after our hearts! This is just a blip in time but for us here on this earth, although, it kinda feels like eternity, right?! As of right now, we have been quarantined for 45 days. What are you learning?

For me, being still in His Presence! Getting out my head and listening to His Holy perspective! I have found so much of His peace by reading His word! Just before all of this quarantine life started, I started reading the book, Get Out of Your Head by Jennie Allen and my small group started the study, Trustworthy by Lysa Turkerst. These two books are how I’ve been fighting this battle! I have linked both books for you.

Jessica + Chris | Starrsville Plantation, Covington, Ga Wedding

About a year ago, during our first wedding consult, I met Jessica and her now sister-in-law, Toya. The two engaged ladies were both in full swing of planning their weddings. I photographed Jessica's brother, Morgan and Toya's wedding just last year. It has been so fun working with their family and I was thrilled to get to work with them again just last weekend during Jessica and Chris' gorgeous Starrsville Plantation wedding! Their family is so close! I love this about them. I love that when Jessica and her dad had their "first look" his smile was from ear to ear the entire time! I love that when Jessica walked down the isle, Chris about lost it! I love that Jessica's parents always ask me to take a photograph of them - they are the sweetest couple and I am sure the most incredible role models for their children to look up to.

Jessica's father's speech was too sweet and it brought me to tears too! He talked about how when Jessica was a little girl she would play kitchen under the dogwood tree in their back yard and her mom would watch her from their kitchen window. One day Jessica's mom, Mrs. Cindy, was out by that dogwood gardening and she found one of Jessica's little kitchen pots. I am sure this flooded her mind with memories of when her daughter was just a little one. Her dad also mentioned that when Jessica was little she gave him some cute little coupons for things like a back scratching, foot rub and one for "no more complaining". Ha! Apparently he had redeemed them all but the "no more complaining" coupon. During his speech, her dad pulls out the "no more complaining" coupon and hands it over to Chris! So cute!

Starrsville Plantation Styled Shoot | Covington, Ga

When Katie Perkins, coordinator of Starrsville Plantation and owner of Blondies True Southern Style, called me and asked me to photograph a styled shoot she was putting together to showcase her venue, I was so excited to be a part of it! It's always a pleasure working with her and seeing her visions come to life! On this styled shoot, she wanted to capture the glamorous boho vibes of Starrsville. The color palette was very romantic and natural with soft silvery greens, ashy blues and pops of pink. While Starrsville is known for it's rustic appeal they have been hard at work upgrading to make it more modern. Their newest additions include beautiful restrooms, stained concrete floors in the entire barn and fresh paint in the main house. Now go get wedding inspired and check out this beautiful photo shoot!
