Maggie + Chris | Down Town Monroe, Ga Engagement Session

A mutual friend introduced Maggie + Chris. She was a senior in high school and he was attending Georgia State.  They spent many years long distant dating, falling in love and growing up together. Last year on Halloween, they had plans to go to a friend's house to watch the Georgia/Florida game. As they were about to leave, Chris proposed!

This past weekend, Maggie, Chris and I met in down town Monroe for their engagement session. We had such a great time together walking around this cute little city and photographing their love. I can't wait until their June wedding at the Carl House!

Ashley + Aaron | Two Year Anniversary Session

Yay! Look at these two! They will be celebrating their two year wedding anniversary very soon. I'm so happy for them. I remember their wedding day like it was yesterday. After their ceremony we headed over to their gorgeous reception venue and the sun was shining beautifully as we walked through the woods to photograph them as husband and wife! OH and, I remember our feet were completely yellow from all the pollen. lol And this girl, ME, had on sandals. Eew. lol But ya’ gotta do what ya’ gotta do! We all laughed about our yellow feet that day. :) During Ashley + Aaron’s two year anniversary session, we laughed once again because our feet were yellow after this session too! Ashley and I have stayed in touch over the past two years. She has modeled for me twice for styled shoots and this year she let me take home her prize winning bunny, Amp, for my Spring Mini sessions I hosted last week! I’m not gonna lie - I was a little nervous! Only because I know how much Amp means to her. He is her show bunny and a gift from her husband. I was scared to death he would jump out of my little clients arms and off into the woods. I prayed every. single. session. that this would NOT happen! My daughter RyAnne was my assistant bunny holder on some of my sessions and she fell in love with Amp. Our sessions turned out so, so sweet. My little clients just loved holding and kissing on him.

Jessica + Alex | Yuletide Christmas Tree Farm Engagement Session

Just before the Thanksgiving holiday, I met with Jessica + Alex at Yuletide Christmas Tree farm for their engagement session. These two are SO much fun! Their laughter and love warmed my heart on this very cold day.

Jessica + Alex meet over six years ago. Jessica's sister and a good friend asked her if she would be up for a blind date. She wasn't interested in any surprises after a few bad dates, so she opted out. However, they still passed on her name to Alex. This lead to him "friending" her on Facebook and lots of long conversations via social media and then phone calls.

After months of only hearing each other's voices over the phone, it was winter when they met for the first time at a local park during a beautiful Georgia snow. Jessica + Alex had an epic snowball fight, where Jessica couldn't get her snowballs to stick together so Alex came over to help her. They were laughing and enjoying their time together. Jessica began admiring Alex while he was laughing and she realized in that moment just how smitten she was. She knew that Alex would become a significant role in her life.

Jessica + Alex, I can't wait for your May 2016 wedding day!

Erika + Larry | Gathers Plantation Engagement Session

In the spring of 2013 Larry accepted a local job in Covington, Georgia.  That was the first time he saw her and thought to himself, "She is way out of my league."  However, he still wanted to talk to her since she was going to be his coworker. 

 

One day she was at work, off the clock, working on her truck and right then is when Larry decided that he was going to make the effort of getting to know her.

He helped her with her truck and got it running just right.  After that day he was never able to work with her due to their conflicting schedules for almost two months.  In June Larry was off work from both of his jobs and rode past their work.  He noticed she was there.  He turned in so he could have the opportunity to talk to her more.  It sounds a little stalker-ish but he didn't meant it that way. They had a long talk getting to know each other and they continued to talk from that point on.

In June of 2013, Larry stopped by Erika's work to drop off a cookie cake just for her since she was working on her birthday and having a rough day there.  Ever since then he has committed himself to making sure she had someone there for her to talk to and show her the love she deserves.    

Erika + Larry will marry at Gathers Plantation in May 2015!  I can't wait to witness the love!

Kara + Nick | Piedmont Park Engagement Session

The day before I met with Kara + Nick I heard on the radio that the Ferguson trial was about to go down and there would be picketers in a park in Atlanta.  I was a little freaked out!  I immediately called Kara with my concern.  I later realized the radio DJ was talking about Woodruff park and not Piedmont.  The day of there session, it looked like t-total poo outside.  It was just dreary and yuck.  I was ready to cancel and reschedule.  We ended up meeting at the park and I'm so glad we did!  It turned out to be a gorgeous evening in Atlanta with these two!

Kara met Nick at Georgia Southern University and were good friends for years. After Nick transferred to GA Tech he asked her to go to formal with him. They started dating shortly after. Kara knew he was the one when he lied about coming to her 21st birthday party. He said he couldn't come because of a prior engagement.  She was sad he couldn't make it but understood.  She went out for dinner with some friends, and looked up and he was standing there.  :)

After Kara's birthday they would travel to see each other every other weekend.  After over 4 years of long distance and driving back and forth to see each other, Kara moved to Atlanta!  

In April Kara had Spring Break.  (Perks of being a teacher!)  Her + Nick made plans to go to New York City to visit their friends.  New York is such a magical place to Kara.  They saw the Broadway show Pippin, walked around Times Square, and went to some cool bars and restaurants.  On that Thursday of their trip, while their friends were at work, Nick said he wanted to walk around Central Park.  When they got to Central Park, Kara suggested they get pretzels. This wasn't a part of Nick's plan!  

He then had Kara pick out a bridge on their map and they walked to it. Once they got to Bow Bridge they watched the people rowing their boats and the swans. After a few minutes Nick asked Kara if she wanted to be with him for the rest of her life. I said, "Of course!" Then he got down on one knee and proposed.

Kara + Nick I can't wait to photograph your beautiful wedding day at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center!
